National High School Honors Orchestra
February 16-20, 2010
Santa Clara, California

High school juniors and senior students are eligible to apply for the National High School Honors Orchestra. Students must apply first through their ASTA state chapters. They submit an audition tape or CD of required literature and three minutes from literature of their own choosing. The state coordinator and an audition committee then select up to thirty applicants to forward to the national level. Separate audition committees for strings, winds, and percussion select the 120 students for the orchestra. The students are required to be members of their school orchestras. Students must follow the application process as stated at the national site to be considered by the national committee.

The deadline for application entries for the 2010 National High School Honors Orchestra is Monday, May 15, 2009. Application forms and tapes or CDs must be in the hands of our state coordinator, Dan Allcott, by May 15, 2009. Thus, it is imperative that all students who are potential candidates be contacted immediately before school is out.
